Head of the Aga Khan University Library
Dr Sarah Nakaziba is currently the Head of the Aga Khan University Library in Uganda. A
position she has held since February 2023. She has over 20 years of experience working in
academic libraries. Her areas of interest include continuing professional development, digital
technologies, research support, information literacy, and cataloguing. Sarah has built a team
that is passionate about providing expert support and resources to facilitate faculty members
to achieve their research goals, and success, and contribute to the advancement of knowledge
in their field. Her passion for research has seen her author a number of publications in peer-
reviewed journals and peer reviewed several manuscripts. She is a member of the AKU
SONAM Advancing Knowledge through Research, for Innovation, Practice, and Policy
Technical Working Group.
Dr Nakaziba serves as the chairperson of the Consortium of Uganda University Libraries
Research and Publications Functional Committee. She also serves as a member of the Uganda
Library and Information Science Association Education, Training, and Research Committee.
She holds a Doctoral Degree in Information Science from the University of South Africa and
a Master's in Information Science from Uganda Christian University. She holds a Bachelor’s
Degree in Library and Information Science from Makerere University.
